Track joints

 

The excavator is walking on a track. The motor has a lot of traction when walking. Since each of the tracks of the track chain has a certain length, The drive wheel is in the shape of a gear, so when walking, there is a polygon effect (a small drive radius when the entire trackpad is parallel to the ground, and a larger drive radius as one side of the trackpad comes into contact with the ground, causing the excavator to walk at an inconsistent rate), thereby generating vibration. When the operation is improper, the roadway is uneven, the tightness change, and there are more foreign materials such as dirt, sand and rock on the tracks when walking will cause the vibration of the tracks, thereby causing the tracks to beat, accompanied by sound. In severe cases, it can accelerate the wear of chassis components and can also cause tracks to derail.

The materials of excavator support wheels, track and guard plates, drive wheels, and chain support wheels are made of alloy steel and added wear-resistant materials. Although there is a heat-treated protective film on the metal surface, if the operation is improper, the tightness of the track is inappropriate, or there is the presence of foreign materials, any metal protective film will wear off, ultimately accelerating the wear of the support wheel, the track and guard plate, the drive wheel, and the chain support wheel.

The interior of the excavator's walking motor and decelerator, support wheels and chain wheels needs gear oil to be lubricated. The floating oil seal of the walking motor, decelerator and support wheels is a type of non-contact seal, the function is to prevent oil leakage. Normal conditions do not leak oil. However, when there is too much accumulation of foreign materials such as dirt, sand and rock outside, it will enter the interior of the oil seal causing damage to the oil seal, causing oil leakage; Walking the excavator for a long time will cause the oil temperature to rise, the floating oil seal to age, and eventually the oil to leak.

The excavator steering wheel and the tightening cylinder assembly are devices that maintain the standard tension of the carrying belt; The tension varies depending on the work conditions and the chassis foreign material. To maintain the standard tension, it is necessary to check and adjust regularly. When the surface of the guide wheel and the tightening tank has oil, sand, dirt, etc., it needs to be cleaned, otherwise it will cause the seal to fail and leak.
